Today I will be talking about how to guide against dissatisfaction with God.
This is a very sensitive topic for todays christian.
Most times we do not even know when we are guilty of this.
A lot of christians today are offended at GOD.
Similarly, many are dissatisfied.
WHAT EXACTLY IS DISSATISFACTION WITH GOD
When you are not happy with God in your heart.secondly, when you are not content with the way God is handling your affairs.
Especially in your heart.
You are harboring dissatisfaction with God.Lets look at the book of Luke to understand what I am talkig about.
18 And the disciples of John shewed him of all these things.
19 And John calling unto him two of his disciples sent them to Jesus, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?
20 When the men were come unto him, they said, John Baptist hath sent us unto thee, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?
21 And in that same hour he cured many of their infirmities and plagues, and of evil spirits; and unto many that were blind he gave sight.
22 Then Jesus answering said unto them, Go your way, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached.
23 And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.
HOW DOES LUKE 7 VS 18-23 EXPLAIN DISSATISFACTION WITH GOD
luke 7 18 23 meaning:
Do you know that many times,we act like John the baptist.Inorder to understand dissatisfaction with god,we need to understand John-the -baptist.
Particularly the point from where he was speaking.
Johns expectations from Jesus were.
1.That when he comes as a savior of the world,he will immediately wage war against evil people.
Secondly,He will destroy all bad people and establish his kingdom on earth.Thirdly that this kingdom will be made up of the good people on earth.
To his surprise however,Jesus did not do that.Similarly,Jesus did not behave the way John thought he should!.
According to his own human reasoning.
LUKE 7 VS 18-23 MEANING CONTINUED
Many long standing christians develop this mental attitute. Most times without even being aware. Especially ,if you are a faithfull christian that has been serving God for many years.
For instance, you may be a preacher,or a singer in your local church choir.
Basically, trying your best to live life according to Gods ways and instructions.
AND THEN THERE IS THIS ONE THING YOU HAVE BEEN ASKING GOD FOR.
And you have been waiting for God to do it the way you want it done.
But God has not done it.
This very thing you desire so much. But God remains silent.
It could be a child.Or a job,house,or even a life mate.
It can even be healing from a sickness.Anything you may have been asking God for year in year out.
You are yet to see the answer. After years of asking,Now you are tired and weary of praying. Then offence or dissatisfaction with God creeps into your heart.
HOW DOES DISSATISFACTION WITH GOD START?
When God does not act the way we want ,at the time we want,we start asking questions.
For example:
Does God really listen?
Is God even hearing me?Does God even exist?Does He really do the things he promises in the bible?
When you reach this point of asking this kind of questions, your dissatisfaction with God has started.
Dont feel so bad with yourself if you are guilty of this.
I was also guilty of it some time ago.Now I know better.
Your dissatisfaction with God is because:First,God has not answered you the way you want him to.
Secondly, you have not got any answer at the time you want it.
You feel that it has taken too long.So God is no longer God.
WHAT BRINGS US TO THIS POINT OF DISSATISFACTION WITH GOD?
According to our own human reseaning,God should do things at our own time.!
we tend to forget what the bible we read says. That Gods timing is not our timing
Similarly ,that Gods ways is far above our ways.
Gods thoughts and His ways of reasoning is not our own way of reasoning.

Our dissatisfaction with God can bring about several processes.
For example,we become blind to other blessings of God in our lives that others are praying for.Did you notice that God did not answer Johns disciples.Particularly when they asked:
“Are you he who is to come or shall we look for another”
Jesus did not answer Yes or no.Instead, he pointed them to all the other things he was already doing. He told the disciples to go back and tell John the things that they see.
Dissatisfaction with God can actually block your blesssings.look at
23 And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.

Most times, answers to our praers delay because of our intentions behind our prayer.
God answers intentions, not the prayer.Paul says that we pray and do not receive because of our selfish intentions. The Lord that created you and me,knows when we are ready for a particular blessing. He knows you enough to know when we are ready.Particularly when we are ready to handle the challenges that come with the blessing.
Believe me,every blessing you are asking God for, comes with its challenges.
Most people that ask God for these blessings are usually not ready for the challenges that come with it.
The best way to guard against dissatisfaction with God is to pray according to Gods purpose for you .Secondly, to learn how to enter Gods rest
