As christians , we pray everyday.
However, how many times do we pray for laborers in Gods vineyard.?
Or should I say ,”when did you pray last for laborers in Gods vineyard?
This is actually a prayer point that most of us do not even remember.
Not to talk of even praying it.!
Most times we are more concerned with asking God for things.There is nothing wrong with that.After all he is our source and provider.
But as we grow in our walk with God, we need to set our priorities right.
And one of the ways to do this, is to pray for things that are close to Gods heart.
And one of those things is to pray for more laborers in Gods Harvest.

Before we talk about laborers in Gods vineyard,we need to understand what Gods vineyard is.
A vineyard is a field filled with vine trees with fruits that needs to be harvested.
The bible refers to Gods vineyard as his church.
That is people that believe in God.Similarly, people that already believe in the saving grace of Jesus christ.
It does not however include everybody in the world.

That is you are no longer concerned with what you want but with Gods desires .
becoming a true laborer is a process that starts with understanding Gods ways and thoughts.
And learning to submit yourself to the leading of His Spirit.
WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY ABOUT LABORERS IN GODS VINEYARD?
After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them two by two ahead of him to every town and place where he was about to go.
2 He told them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.
Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. 3 Go! I am sending you out like lambs among wolves.
4 Do not take a purse or bag or sandals; and do not greet anyone on the road.
As laborers in Gods vineyard, we are to prepare people for the returning of Christ.Secondly, we are to pray for God to bring in more laborers into his harvest.
If I may ask, “what did you pray for today”?
What was part of your prayer point? I can bet that praying for laborers in Gods vinyard was not part of it.
If it was,then you are among the few christians today that do that.
WHY SHOULD WE PRAY FOR LABORERS IN GODS VINEYARD?
The lord said that the harvest is abundant but the laborers are few.
The lords second coming is at the door.Bible profecies about the return of Christ is already happening.
There are a lot of churches today.
Unfortunatly however genuine laborers are few.Similarly, the number of christians actually praying for more laborers in Gods vineyard are also few.
For example,look at prayer points in a church gathering.
How many times do you see prayers being offered for more laborers in Gods vineyard?How many times have we prayed for Gods harvest?
Even when I prayed this morning, I did not even remember to pray for that.
I believe you are beginning to see why God is specifically asking us to pray for laborers .
HOW SHOULD WE PRAY FOR WORKERS INTO GODS HARVEST
If you look again at luke 10vs 4, the lord said
“Do not take a purse or bag or sandals; and do not greet anyone on the road.“
This singular statement has to do with time managemant when it comes to the work of God.
that means that the disciples should not waste time greating or talking with anybody as they carry out their work as laborers.
It means there is an urgency for more laborers in Gods vineyard.Now is the time for us to lay aside our desires and pray everyday genuine church workers.
Because indeed in our world today, the harvest is plenty.
There are so many people turning to the church today.Compared to many years ago.
So many people hungry to find solutions to problems in their lives. And it is our responscibility as Gods workers to show them the parthway to Christ.
WHY WE SHOULD PRAY FOR WORKERS IN GODS HARVEST
A lot of people flogg the churches today, looking for financial breakthrough.
Some want to know how to get suppernatural healing.Similarly,others are looking for ways to live life without stress.
People are hungry for these things.
But the problem is,where are the true laborers that know how to teach these ways.!where can we get people to explain these ways practically to those seeking these solutions to their problems.?
That is why we should pray for workers in Gods vineyard.
Part of your prayer from today should be asking God to teach you how to be a true worker in his vineyard.

PRAYER
I pray that God will put a desire in our hearts to want to know how to work for him.And for the Holy Spirit to open our eyes to see how we can work for God where he has placed us.
To also prepare us so that when the lord brings the harvest our way, we will be prepared for it.
Help us O lord to labor where you have planted us.
